Restraint (1 day PAMVA) course profile

This course is suitable for anyone working in an environment which encounters challenging or violent behaviour. It helps those who do not have the time or opportunity to benefit from our comprehensive training courses.

Aims

     To provide learners with knowledge of legal issues relating to the use of force.
 

     To provide learners with basic skills using some of our restraint methods, particularly focussed

           on their working environment.
 

Objectives

     Learners will acquire the necessary basic skills using some restraint methods relevant to their working

           environment, using the absolute minimum of force necessary and reasonable in the circumstances.
 

     Learners will be aware of legal issues and national guidelines relating to the use of force.

     Legal issues and national guidelines
 

     Golden Rules relating to the use of restraint methods
 

     Practical training of basic restraint methods
 

     Report writing
 

Certification

All learners completing the course will be issued a certificate of attendance.
