Restraint
(level 2) training course profile
This is a two day practical course covering the full ECC&R Level 2 syllabus,
where required, in Restraint methods. It is suitable for anyone working in
an environment where someone may become so violent that they have to be
restrained as a last resort. Learners must have completed Level 1 Breakaway
before attending this course.

Aims
To give learners:
A
knowledge and understanding of all ECC&R Restraint methods and related
legislation
and national guidelines
Practical
exercises in Restraint methods

Objectives
Learners will be able to safely manage violence and physical aggression with
the absolute minimum of force necessary and reasonable in the circumstances
with different gradients of control which are ethical, dignified and legal
and as a last resort. This should create a safe working environment for self
and others.

Certification
Visual assessments are made by our tutors to ensure all learners practice
and apply correctly the methods taught. Successful learners are issued with
our Level 2 Restraint certificates. Certificates are valid for 12 months
when a one day refresher course would be required.
